Galleri Matthies
Galleri Matthies is buzzing with creativity, unique works, conversations about art and existence, hand-brewed beer, ecology and creativity. The lushness and range are great. The quality is high. Here you will find 700 m2 with changing exhibitions, two working workshops and the opportunity to follow works along the way.
You will find abstract and figurative paintings, sculptures, ceramics, metal art, photo art, jewelry and lamps. You are also invited to the Literature Room, where 3 authors with something on their minds in relation to existence, meaning and consciousness exhibit their books. The gallery is located with beautiful buildings in the middle of beautiful nature, close to the Corselitze forest and 8 km from Marielyst.
The gallery is run by Charlotte and Torben Grøhn Matthiesen, who live on the farm themselves. It can almost always be visited. The gallery opened in 2019 and currently has 14 exhibitors. Charlotte is a visual artist and writer. Torben runs the land around the gallery biodynamically and houses Falster Bryglaug, where beer is brewed. If you would like to hear more about agriculture and brewing, you can make an appointment with Torben before arrival. A major driving force in the gallery is also Lis Ekmann. Lis is a jewellery artist, lamp maker and painter of icons.
