"The Boy and the Sea Lion Fountain" Poulsen, Axel 1935 Hjørring,Town Hall Square.
A boy and a sea lion play in this bronze and sandstone fountain as if they belong in the same element. Whilst reliefs on the outside of the basin depict scenes of adulthood’s toil and labour. This sculpture is an example of the vitalistic worship of body and nature which exemplifies much art from the 1930’s.
